Asees Sethi
Researcher Asees joined GPlus in 2008 from the European Commission's Trade department, where she coordinated the Commission's participation in the International Trade Committee of European Parliament, particularly with regards to the Doha Development Agenda and on-going Free Trade Agreements. In that context she was also responsible for drafting a report on future implications of the Lisbon Treaty on the relationship between the European Parliament and DG Trade. Previously, Asees was at the World Federation of Advertisers where she worked closely with the Directors of Public Affairs and Communication on monitoring and analysing EU regulations, and on the preparation and execution of WFA's advocacy activities both in Europe and internationally. She was responsible for conducting in-depth research into the role and value of advertising. She also dealt with issues on brand management, ‘greenwashing' and sustainable development with regards to commercial communications. An American national, Asees holds a Masters in Politics and Government of the EU from the London School of Economics. She also graduated with a BA in International Affairs from George Washington University, specialising in International Politics and Conflict and Security. In addition, she has studied at Al-Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco and at Institut d'Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) in Paris, France. Asees speaks English and French fluently, has good knowledge of Hindi and Punjabi and knows basic Japanese. |
