Oya joined GPlus in January 2008. She is a specialist in EU-Turkey relations, the energy sector in south-east Europe and environment policy.

Prior to GPlus Oya was working in Ankara as a Research Associate at the renowned Foundation of Economic Policy Institute of Turkey (TEPAV), writing on various matters related to the development of the private sector in Turkey and EU-Turkey relations. She has also worked as a teaching/research asssitant at Istanbul Bilgi University, where she co-authored articles on the Cyprus conflict and the EU's security policy.

Oya holds a Masters degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She also has a Masters degree in Politics from the College of Europe, Bruges. A Turkish national, Oya is fluent in English and French, and understands Italian.
