Julius joined GPlus in 2008 from the European Government Affairs office of BP, where he was working as an advisor on energy and climate change. He is a specialist in overall energy policies, renewable energies, electricity and gas markets, the European Emissions Trading Scheme and questions of energy security.

Earlier in his career Julius worked for Burson-Marsteller in New Delhi. There he advised a large international beverage company on crisis communications. Julius has also worked for a Lithuanian MEP and as a research assistant at the Centre of European Policy Studies (CEPS), a leading Brussels-based think-tank.

A German national, he studied Political Science, Philosophy and Economics in Munich and holds a Masters in Political Strategy and Communications from the University of Kent. He also studied Russian in St. Petersburg for a year. Trained as an officer of tank reconnaissance he is fluent in English and German and speaks some Russian.
