John joined g+ in November 2010 after a short stint as a contributor and editor for the European Geopolitical Forum, an independent think-tank promoting a more balanced, wider-European debate on geopolitics. He is a specialist in European energy security and has written extensively on Turkish domestic and foreign policy, in addition to its importance as a major transit point for energy markets.
He has lived in Brussels since September 2009 where he completed a Master's degree in International Relations from the University of Kent. Additionally he holds a degree in History from the University of Central Oklahoma, with an emphasis on European and Russian studies.
An American national, John speaks English and some Spanish. He is currently studying French.
