Since joining g+ in January 2006, Lucía has mainly advised multinational clients in the financial and ICT sectors on public affairs, media relations and general corporate reputation. She specialises in financial regulation and accounting but advises clients on a broad range of issues including taxation, social affairs and consumer policy.
In the field of competition policy, she has provided counsel on several mergers and a state aid case in the financial sector, and advised a telecoms operator on its communications with EU media and elites around a major antitrust investigation.
With twelve years' experience of the Brussels environment, Lucía combines expert understanding of the EU and its role in international relations with strong political and strategic thinking, and sound drafting skills.
She brings to g+ a track record of media experience from her previous position as Head of Communications and Spokesperson for the European insurance industry federation (CEA). There, she managed CEA's external and internal communication strategies and handled its relations with European, American and Asian media for over three years.
Earlier in her career Lucía worked at the Union of European Federalists, where she coordinated the European Parliament's Intergroup on the European Constitution and led the NGO's campaigns around European summits.
Lucía has three nationalities - Spanish, German and American. She studied law in Madrid and Berlin and obtained a Master's in European Law from the Institut d'Etudes Européennes in Brussels. She is fluent in English, French, German and Spanish and has a basic knowledge of Italian, Dutch and Catalan.
