At GPlus since June 2007 Simonas specialises in EU energy policy, including external aspects, tax policy and the automotive industry. He is part of teams which advise several multinationals on a wide range of issues including competition and trade policy.

Simonas joined GPlus from a job in management consulting where he consulted private and public authorities on EU issues, and trained them how to apply for structural funds and lobby the EU institutions. He undertook a number of research and impact assessment studies for the European Commission (DG Transport and Energy, DG Enterprise, DG Internal Market) and the European Parliament.

Simonas is from Lithuania although he has lived aboard for over 10 years. He studied in the U.S. at the Armand Hammer United World College of the American West and at the University College of Utrecht and the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, both in The Netherlands, and did his Masters in Urban Management. In addition to his native Lithuanian, Simonas is fluent in English and Russian, and has a good knowledge of both Spanish and Dutch.
